Kitchener neighbourhoods
Kitchener divides the city into official planning communities. Here are a few of the Kitchener real estate areas buyers ask about most:
Victoria Park
Grand old homes, brick semis and some condos surround Kitchener’s best-known park. In addition, downtown, the Kitchener Market and the ION are a short walk away.
Central Frederick
Tree-lined streets of older detached homes and duplexes just north-east of downtown, with character and walkability.
Forest Heights
A west-end community of 1970s and 1980s detached homes, schools and parks. Plus, the Conestoga Parkway and the Boardwalk are easy to reach.
Stanley Park
An established east-end area with bungalows and split-levels on quiet crescents, close to Chicopee and the Grand River.
Doon South
A newer south-end community planned around creek valleys and wetlands. Detached homes and towns here sit near the 401 and Conestoga College. The city’s Doon South Community Plan describes its linked open space network.
Huron Park
Family subdivisions built around the Huron Natural Area in the south end, with newer detached homes and townhouses.
